Funky Disco Bogans
- concept and promo kit
#### 🎸 Facts
- **Nana and Pop:** They lived it, AND understood it.
- **Nana and Pop's kids:** Thought their parents were so embarrassing and
super un-cool.
- **Nana and Pop's kids, kids:** YOU GET IT. LET'S GO!!!! But don't tell
your oldies. They're too old, too embarrassing and too super un-cool to
even understand.

#### 🎸 Band identity:
- **Name:** Funky Disco Bogans — a homage to the unsung heroes of Aussie
suburbia, blending disco decadence with backyard grit.
- **Sound:** Imagine Chic jamming with Cold Chisel at a sausage sizzle.
Tight Nile Rodgers-style rhythm guitar, slap bass that thumps like a
Commodore boot, and a horn section that blasts like a grog-fueled Sheila
on karaoke night. Vocals are nasal, and full of pub wisdom — part anthem,
part anecdote and a very small part memory.
- **Vibe:** Rowdy, glitter-splattered nostalgia. Think flares and footy
shorts, servo lights and satin shirts, thongs and shades. It’s a sweaty
celebration of Aussie kitsch, where disco meets the driveway.

#### 🎶 Setlist (14 songs)
1. **At Maccas** — An emotional ode about what's really important where
the bassline grooves like a Holden idling.
2. **C'mon and Test Me** — Funky tribute to local crime philosophers,
lookin' if you're pissed or smoking Chappell's hooch.
3. **Crown Kings** — Emotional tribute to the only place to go on
Saturday, apart from the footy.
4. **Funky Bogan** — Disco groove about the older, mature, late-night
hornbag ... Shazza
5. **Maccas Drive Thru** — Funk jam with synths and sentimental lyrics
about the place to take your skank. "Hot babe, Hot chips And a greasy
kiss!"
6. **Me and the Boys on the Town** — High-energy chants, and why us blokes
are the greatest legends.
7. **Out on the Town** — A dance track built around havin' mates, a drink
and a good time.
8. **Party** — It's all about your mates...the blokes.
9. **Party Boys** — Funk-rock fusion with flannel-shirt choreography.
10. **Party with the Boys** — The blokes with layered vocals that mimic
revving engines.
11. **Saturday Night** — Disco groove where you can 'piss-up' your
Centrelink check, con a couple of alright Sheilas, and have heaps and
heaps of a good time. Grouse!
12. **Straight Flush Groove** — Funk fusion about beating the Casino and
at the same time, putting up with the attractive but unintelligent bimbos.
13. **TNT Bogan Funk** — A dance track built around AC/DC and Nana having
a good time, making you a real living legend mate.
14. **We Want to Party with the Boys** - Funky energy chants. Mates,
blokes, legends.

#### 🕺 Crowd interaction & show bits
- **Call-and-response chorus:** Songs have a shouted “Oi!”, "Ahah" or
"Yeah Man" — the louder the crowd, the funkier.
- **Bogan Ceremony:** Ritual where punters shout out their first car
(e.g., “Mazda, Morris, Datsun, VW”) and receive a custom horn riff
tribute.
- **Mullet Judging:** A local pub legend is invited onstage to judge the
best mullet — winner gets a signed stubby cooler and a chance to dance
with a skanky hornbag scrubber under the disco ball of love.
- **Serenade:** One lucky audience member, male or female (there was no
"other" back then), gets a slow jam serenade while holding a Four & Twenty
meat pie and a Fosters beer under a spotlight.
